Sr. Payroll & Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an experienced payroll professional to add to this amazing team!

You will hold a critical role to process multistate payrolls for a variety of different companies. This is not your traditional in-house payroll, as you will be joining a close-knit team in a unique consultative organization, where all your skills will expand and allow you to continue growing.

What the Sr. Payroll & Accounting Specialist will do:

Complete payroll functions including but not limited to terminations, time sheets, hours, pay rate changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, direct deposits, benefit adjustments and refunds, various other input, etc.

• Review, verify and enter payroll data in a timely manner.
• Process, audit, analyze and train on T&L, payroll and benefits for multiple payrolls including high profile more difficult clients
• Research, diagnose and assist in resolutions for internal issues and system problems
• Audit current processes to reduce the number of payroll related errors
• Strive to maintain 99.99% accuracy when processing payroll for all clients.
• Maintenance of client and worksite employee payroll records and files.
• Determines the need for new accounts and revisions in the account structure.
• Researches and advises payroll staff concerning the accounting treatment of complex transactions.
• May perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors.
• Management of A/R: Collect payments from clients, follow up on past due, post payments, reconciliation
• Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll, garnishments, verifications, etc., as well as required state reporting forms.
• Reconcile benefit invoices
• Performs calculations and reporting of tax liabilities, in responding to questions and special requests from employees and system errors, in researching laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding procedures

What the Sr. Payroll & Accounting Specialist will need to have:

• 5+ years of end-to-end payroll processing
• Payroll Professional Certifications (CPP) a PLUS!
• Multistate payroll
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in dealing with confidential and sensitive information.
• High aptitude for leaning new systems (tech savvy)

• Ability to be client facing, in person meetings, trainings, etc.
• Strong customer service and or account management experience
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• strong MS Office experience
